Detroit Tigers Catcher/Outfield Eric Haase has been on a torrid pace the last week or so.
Over the course of his last 7 games, Haase has 6 home runs in 24 at bats with a .375/.444/1.167. Or for those of you that don’t speak math, Haase is on fire.
Haase is a local boy; born in Detroit, attending Divine Child High School in Dearborn, MI. Originally a seventh round pick of the Cleveland Indians, Haase signed with the Tigers last year after 19 big league games with the Indians.
Haase was called up to the Tigers when catchers Wilson Ramos and Grayson Greiner were placed on the injured list. With the way Haase is swinging the bat, you have to wonder if Greiner will be coming back to the big league club even when healthy.
Overall, Haase is hitting .278/.333/.681/1.014 with 8 home runs and 13 RBI on the season.
